A New Tune A Day Performance Pieces For Clarinet

Please understand I have had a piano tutor book and companion repertoire book. These two books were perfect for each other. The repertoire pieces were exactly scaled to the difficulty or ease of the pieces in the tutor book. The pieces in this 'performance' book are nowhere near scaled to match the progress step by step with the tutor book. Neither are they what I would consider in any kind of order of difficulty. The first piece goes down to low G and the second piece crosses the break. I have looked at the first 11 pieces and I am absolutely disappointed. I will probably be returning it.

Very good resource for music teachers and students.

I purchached this book to add to the tunes I could learn. I am currently on A New Tune A Day Book 1. I was however quite dissapointed. Although it has a good range of songs, the CD that accompanies the book only plays the backing tracks for each piece unlike most of the tracks in Book 1 which plays two tracks: one backing track and one with someone playing the tune on the clarinet. It is still a good book and I would still recommend it to other clarinet players on the understanding they didn't need to use the CD to learn to play the tune.
