To make this fuel pressure tester to even work, I had to come up with a way to properly connect to fuel rails of GM vehiclesThe fuel rail has a test fitting that is like a valve stem of a tire/wheelHas a springed pin that when a test tool is connected to it also has a pin to push/open the fitting on railNone of the adapters this comes with has any such correct designThis has no way to reduce the fuel pressure after completing the pressure testIn this case as my photos show, even after the engine was turned off for 45 minutes this tester still showed 41 PSIThere is no button as I show with a gauge much cheaper in cost when pushed allows pressure to drop and also has a drain hose, so pressure is lowered the fuel in test hose is drainedThis tester has neither, nor adapter for connecting to GM fuel railsThis requires supplying 4 AAA batteries replaced as needed

Ideal for more modern (Read fuel injected) engines. For example - standard diagnostic procedure for my vehicle regarding fuel pressure are 49.5psi plus or minus 5psi at idle (GDI engines will be MUCH higher) with pressure remaining above 30psi for 5 minutes after shutdown. This will tell you if the pump works. Either this digital gauge or an analog one will work for this test, but what about fuel VOLUME? If you are losing power on acceleration the pressure can be dropping under load, the best way is a test drive, but I for one don't want a hose pinched between the hood and cowl with 50psi of gas in it. Digital gauge for the win, MUCH easier to tell at a glance too.

This tool does what it's supposed to do. It gives a digital pressure reading. It's more of a convenience than anything else. Besides the screen, the setup is exactly the same as it would be with a regular gauge. The adapters included are enough for most jobs, but nowhere near a master set. Once again, the setup is exactly the same. You can use adapters from other sets if you'd like.My biggest problem with this tool is actually the storage situation. The box is way too small to fit the tool properly. Everything is layered in a specific way to fit. It becomes a big hassle to get it just right enough for the box to close. It gets irritating very fast. For the $170 at the time of this review, they should have included a much better storage solution.
