I've used several different brands of bias tape makers. This one is one of the easiest ones I've used.First off, the handle is plastic so it doesn't get hot when using. The other ones I've used had a metal loop handle and it could get hot. Not this one.The fabric slit is on the bottom which makes it that much easier to pull the fabric through from one end to the other. The other ones I've used had the slit on top, surrounded by a thicker plastic, which meant it was that much more difficult to push the fabric through. Doing that on these ones is a breeze.I have only used it to make bias tape so far but it's nice to know it's double duty - can be used with or without the fusible tape...basically two contraptions for the price of one. I plan on converting over from my regular bias tape makers to these ones in all the available sizes.

This bias tape maker definitely makes it easier to make your own tape. You need to have your iron ready to immediately press the material as it comes out. I found it actually helped to hold the little gizmo so it was almost straight up and down with the point against the ironing board. One thing that should be pointed out is the size. I bought the "1/2 inch" size. Well, a half inch is what comes out as you press the material. If you are wanting double fold bias tape, your finished product will only be 1/4 inch as you will need to fold it in half and press it along the center.
