Unboxing: the cardboard box seemed like it had dust/ dirt on it at first glance, but it's just the type of eco cardboard it is, but it's not a good look, in my opinion. The ring's styling reminds me a lot of some pewter pieces by Alchemy Jewellery I had years ago. Because this Coppertist ring looked so much like pewter to me, it sent me investigating exactly what pewter and sterling silver actually are, what expectations should be of tarnishing and an idea of price.I learnt why sterling silver is called that and that it is 92.5% silver. Sterling silver can be attacked by common components of atmospheric pollution, causing silver sulfide (thank you Wikipedia). I notice from the product description that they have added an oxidised finish to the silver. I am addressing this as another reviewer's opinion is that it is tarnished: I don't think that it is, I think that's the finish used and I am guessing there's some protection there from the process that causes silver sulfide.Where the tail of the snake goes into the mouth has a small section of more polished looking silver; I think I would have preferred a uniform colour. The tail end isn't attached, so you can make the ring larger, but you cannot make it smaller as the tail will only go so far into the mouth. Which is a real disappointment to me, as I measured my finger correctly but the reality is the ring is far too big for the finger I measured and wanted to wear it on.Now, perhaps ring sizing is on me; I really should have gotten myself a ring sizer as this has happened to me before: measure ring size according to guidelines, end up with a ring too big.The black zircon eyes are a real disappointment. There is no sparkle or light reflection, so they really might as well not be there; this is the biggest reason for only giving three stars: the ring could have been cheaper if they hadn't of bothered.
