This is probably a good product as most things by Draper usually are. I never really got to try it out in anger as it's too big for my Creusen Grinding/Polishing station. That's nobodys fault but mine, I just got greedy... As my machine is too under powered it takes a while for this to 'spool up' and then, just as it is up to speed, when you offer the workpiece up to it, the friction off the wheel is so great that the thing just comes to a stop. Not very good for polishing or rust removal but good for not grinding your knuckles away...I would advise any prospective purchaser to ensure that the machine they intending using this on has the balls to drive it.

This was purchased as a replacement for the wheel which came as standard with my Creusen grinding/polishing station (which was of dubious quality). This is perfect. it is well constructed and has performed all tasks presented to it with aplomb. You still get bits of wire flying off but nowhere near as much as with the Creusen standard wheel (make sure you wear safety goggles!)The only downside, if there is one, is that due to the increased surface area of the wheel it takes much less friction to cause the wheel stop whilst in use. This says more about my machine being underpowered than it does the wheel. I simply use it with lighter pressure on the workpiece and for a bit longer...Good stuff, as always from Draper.I started with the larger, 200mm wheel, and given my previous comment about my machine being underpowered, the larger one was simply too large, too much friction and it took ages to 'spool up'.
