The plastic bag is fairly thick, I think it would provide good protection. The magnet closure seems to provide a good seal. The plastic has a slight hazing to it, it is not perfectly clear, but you can see the contents easily. The down side is the double fold over and magnet closure is difficult to open. The magnets are strong, but then it makes it hard to open. If you don't have to go in and out of it often you probably won't mind it.

Everything was awesome for the first 6 times used. Bought two for wife and my kayaks to hold our phones, When in use always stored on the kayak in a watertight compartment with not much else. We are talking flat water paddling not white water. I was removing my phone from the last use and noticed what looked like stress lines/cracks up near the closure. When I looked closer I realized that at least one of these cracks was through the clear plastic, now a hole. Not good!! I am beyond the return window and the manufacturer website is in German. Looks like I'll be eating $35 each.

I love this phone dry bag! It is waterproof and not brittle, even with saltwater use. I use the phone without problems, and the pictures aren't bad either!

I bought this to use while kayaking, to protect my phone from water exposure/damange and from accidentally falling into the water. It works perfectly for that! I hook the lanyard around something on my kayak (a bungee on my dashboard, or a loop on the seat adjuster), to keep the phone tethered to my kayak (so it doesn't fall out).It does NOT float, inherently. But if you make sure it has enough air inside it before you allow it to close, then it CAN float. (That's too tedious for me to remember each time I open/close it. So I treat this as if it will sink.)This is reliably waterproof! I didn't realize how great that would be, but I've tested it a few times and now feel comfortable holding this under water and taking videos/photos. The underwater pictures turn out good (not amazingly excellent, but good enough).I don't prefer to take pictures (above water) with this case on, because the material of the bag can make the pictures look less crips & clear. The first time I used this, yes the pics were pretty clear - I think because the material was brand new, unused, and super clean. But since then, the pics tend not to be crisp & clear - perhaps due to environmental residue? I have rinsed the outside of them after use, and it doesn't really help; but I wonder if I used soap & water to clean the outside of it after each use would help... but I'm too lazy. Pics are more clear if you press the case against the phone, rather than having it gap in front of the camera lens. The magnets are magical! It quickly closes and strongly seals on it's own. It could not get any easier! It's not at all difficult to open it; but it definitely is not going to open on its own.Regarding challenges with these sorts of dry bags, I'm happy to report that:- It opens plenty wide for me to easily get my phone in & out.- While the material does "stick" a bit to my phone, it's NOT so stuck that it's difficult to get my phone out of this easily and quickly.I only use this for my phone. But I didn't have my phone in there, it could hold my keys and ID just fine. But I'd worry that over time a key would puncture this.
