Gute Qualität

After I received this reeds (2 1/2) I did an visual inspection and a comparison with reeds from other manufacturer:- None of the reeds was damaged- None of the reeds had any print - not even the strength - so if you have others you need to remember- Each of the reeds come in an individual paper casing - good for the environment- After watering them the first time there was an unpleasant taste coming from the reeds- The heart feels rough- The reed has the standard dimensions- 8 out of 10 reeds have dark coloration from the bark of the cane, that is much more than usual. I am not sure if other manufacturer are not using this parts of the cane and when why not. Perhaps that is a quality issue. So by seeing so a lot of dark reeds make me wonder. Perhaps that explain the low price.Sound test:- I did nor break the reed in, but I compared it with an similar unbroken reed- I changed the reeds while the mouth piece was still attached to the saxophone in order not to changethe test conditions, so only the position of the ligature on the reed had an influence to the test- I used an app to check if the tone matched what I played- The reeds are good to play, but I am not sure that are true 2.5th. They feel softer than other reeds with this strength.- I could easily create the right tone and it was mostly clearResult: Definitely this reed is on the lower end of a middle quality. The bad taste disappeared after watering the reed for a longer time. Perhaps I got use to it. But it is not pleasant at all.Overall a cheap reed for the absolute beginner who goes fast thru reeds.

I just received the tenor reeds, they seem to be similar to the reeds I bought at my local music store, I just started playing the saxophone so I am new to this, I find the reed to be comfortable and I don’t have any problems with it, as far as the sound goes I can’t fairly rate that I am seriously not that good playing yet.
