Made of quality wood - not plastic! Viewing angle is adjustable. And it has nice little clips that can be used to hold the right and/or left page down, if you wish.

I only used it to put my book while I stutied. It hasn’t even last long enough to do the finals exams…

I am an avid cook, who actually writes my own cookbooks, taking pictures of my dishes as I go and then I go into Word and paste the pictures along with step by step instructions. I usually assemble my recipes in either a 3 ring binder with sheet protectors or I make a more permanent version using "scrapbook" binders from Hobby Lobby. In addition, of course I have dozens of cookbooks from sources like America's Test Kitchen.I am happiest when I am in my kitchen, creating and perusing cookbook recipes. When I saw this cookbook stand I was immediately impressed with its features and decided to get one through the Amazon Vine program, offering the item for free in exchange for an honest review. I was hopeful that it would measure up to my expectations and needs. When I pulled it out of the box I was not disappointed.I have ordered and used stands like this before but they always seemed to be lacking in either stability, room that they take up, or in their utility in ease of use. This stand is firing on all cylinders. Besides looking great in the kitchen, it is very stable and the angle at which you can prop it up for use, is achieved with a very smart slotted base that tilts the surface back in the same manner that a poolside deck chair operates. So there is tremendous flexibility in how you view your cookbook. And what I like best about this stand is the curved metal, spring style arms that you pull out from the lower lip. These clips are really strong, friction clips which are under tension from the way they are curved, with rubber tips on the ends of the arms. They do a fantastic job of holding the right and left side pages in their open position. And this folds very flat, with its well designed configuration. I fold it flat and slip it into an overhead cabinet, hugging one of the sidewalls of the cabinet so it doesn't rob me of any space inside the cabinet.I just wish that I had this many years ago, as a super smart addition to my prolific amount of kitchen gear.

I use this mainly as a laptop stand. I like a steep angle for my laptops when using a stand and this one fits the bill. It is as stable as Gilbraltar and the bottom, fold-out lip is more than big enough for any laptop. So, if you use this for a book, big or small, this stand has more than enough strength to keep your reading material super-stable. The only thing that I don't like about it is the lack of finish work. Across the top edge, there is a small chunk missing and that space is definitely splinter-prone. Also, the grooves which hold the beefy metal angle adjuster are unfinished. However, I don't think that these nits are enough to take it down a star.

I got this to use to hold up my tablet (Samsung Galaxy S7). It does that. It's a pretty simple task and a pretty simple design. There's not much you can do to screw it up except for not paying attention to quality control. And that's what happened here. The part connecting the backboard to the stand was not nailed into the backboard well, meaning the stand isn't stable and could come apart at any time. I expected better.
