I like the Hal Leonard real books. They are written clearly and have good changes.

Very good book. Up to their usual high standard. I now have 4 of this Hal Leonard series and they have all been excellent, I must get the entire set. I have a few Chuck Sher books which are also very high standard and worth having in the collection.

This is a great addition to the Hal Leonard "Real Book" series. My only complaint is that because of the font that they use (in some misguided concept that people who play jazz only enjoy reading fake handwritten notation fonts) is so large that there are a lot of tunes which take two pages. I much prefer their older "Ultimate Jazz Collection" book which had over 600 songs in it, all in "engraved music" fonts, not "handwritten" fonts and most pages had 2 songs per page so a single book held much more music. But that petty complaint aside, the tune selection is great and it's wonderful to have this in my library. Now I just wish that Hal Leonard would get on the stick and issue volumes IV and V as cd-rom versions and also offer accompaniment recordings for volumes III, IV and V. Not all of us are lucky enough to have other jazz-minded musicians handy to play the music with. Fortunately I've got Band-In-A-Box so I do have accompaniments but the Hal Leonard recordings that they issued for volumes I and II of the Real Book are more fun to play with and I don't have to spend the time necessary to get the Band-In-A-Box arrangements just right.

相変わらずVerse部分は記載されていませんが、このシリーズはあると便利ですかさばりますが、A-5サイズ等の物も出ていますので(150cm-220cm)、探せば手に入るかも？譜面の表記はバンドマンの世界では一般的な表記なので、見慣れておくとセッション時の出される譜面で戸惑う事はありません、今回はポピュラーが多く12pのEarth Wind & Fireからはじまりビリー・ジョエル,フィフス・ディメンジョン,マイケル・ジャクソン,カルロス・サンタナ,スティング,ザ・ビートルズ,ポール・サイモン,キャロル・キング,カーペンターズ等が出てきます、他のジャンルはゴスペル,タンゴ、マンボ、アニメ(Simpsons),映画曲等,それから、なかなか探しても載っていないと思われる、コーラスグループ曲でGuantanamera(Sandpipers)(シギ)等々探してた方にはお宝かもです、マリリン・モンローのI Wanna be Loved by youも載ってますJaco PastoriusのCome on Come OverありBopありなのでバラエティーに楽しめます、またSadeがリバイバルでヒットさせたSmooth Operatorも今回載っています、400数十曲の内四分の三はジャズのジャンルですね、持っていると重宝します
