Advantages Of EINK
- E-paper display utilizes microcapsule electrophoretic technology for displaying, the principle is: charged particles suspended in clear fluid will move to sides of microcapsule when electric field is applied, making the microcapsule become visible by reflecting ambient light, just as traditional printed paper.
- E-paper display will clearly display images/texts under lamplight or natural light, requires no backlight, and features nearly up to 180° viewing angle. It is usually used as e-reader due to its paper-like effect.

What do you need to note about e-Paper refreshing?
Answer:
Refresh mode
- Full refresh: e-Paper flicker when full refreshing to remove ghost image for best display.
- Partial refresh: It don't flicker if you use partial refresh (only some of the two-color e-paper support partial refresh). Note that you cannot use Partial refresh all the time, you should full refresh e-paper regularly, otherwise, ghost problem will get worse even damage.
Refresh rate
- When using, you should set the update interval at least 180s.(except Partial supportable types)
- Please set the e-Paper to sleep mode or power off it directly, otherwise, the e-Paper is damaged because of working in high voltage for long time.
Working place
- We recommend you to use the e-Paper indoor. If you need to set the e-paper outdoor, Please place the e-paper in shadow and protect it from UV. When you designed you e-paper product, you should take care about the working situation like temperature, humidity, etc.

This 2.66-inch e-paper display from Waveshare is a great addition to my Raspberry Pi projects. The black and white dual-color display is sharp and easy to read, even in direct sunlight. The SPI interface makes it simple to connect to various Raspberry Pi models, and the support for partial refresh allows for efficient updates of specific areas on the screen. I've found it to be a versatile and power-efficient display solution for applications like information displays, e-readers, and other projects where low power consumption is important.

This is a super fun little device to play around with, I don't yet have a purpose in mind but if you're a tinkerer at all like I am you'll get your money's worth out of it

These displays are fantastic. I originally bought this model, which is a black/white version, but after using this I decided to go for the tri-colour version which was a better fit for my project as the ability to show information in red was a big thing.If I only needed mono, then I would definitely use this module again, it's easy to work with and the massive e-paper feature of no current draw when displaying a static image is a massive thing if you are creating battery powered projects.There's plenty of documentation and reference code from waveshare themselves on how to use these, just they really only use a MASTER->SLAVE SPI connection.I wish they were cheaper, but I think this display technology is generally just expensive at the moment.
