Flush cuts soft wire up to 12 AWG (2.0 mm): / Xuron Micro Shear flush cutters ensure durability and Let 's by can use a little basic physics to illustrate how: If you generate 10 pounds of pressure on the grip of A conventional compression-type, wire cutter, A wire to cut that 10 pounds of force must be somewhere dissipated of Conservation of Law (Energy). Part of it is dissipated into the wire severed section of, which is why it sails across the room. A portion travels the lead wire down and is dissipated into the component Gold solder Seal, which is what the military about. gets upset the balance is dissipated into the opposing cutting edge of the cutter, which is why they get dull . using a Micro Shear flush cutter requires only about half the pressure 5 pounds (approximately) to cut the same wire. Part of the force is dissipated severed into the section of the wire, but if you are using our patented retainer the lead wire won't sail across the room. Because of our shearing cut, very little is dissipated into the component Gold solder Seal, which keeps the military happy and the rest is dissipated into the opposing jaw. Because of our cutting blade by-pass, edge to edge contact is eliminated and the life of our Micro Shear flush cutter's precision cutting edges is extended.

This is a replacement for some I already had but I had ruined the blades trying to cut metals that were too thick. This time I have bought cutters that cut a little thicker millimetre. I would recommend checking each product code of the cutters when purchasing to check what millimetre they cut. Now I know, I will be more careful with my new ones.

These are really nice pliers. They are sharp and with the beveled edge and point at the tip, they seem to get in smaller spaces. Like their price they fall right in the middle. They are not cheap pliers, and they aren't the top of the line. I like them because I have broken the very expensive pliers and get frustrated about that. These seem to be working well even though it has only been a few months. I am really hard on pliers and these seem to be keeping up!

I have recently started working in chainmaille and my material of choice is bright aluminum wire. I had been using aviation snips which cut the wire but tends to distort the rings. I had recently bought these cutters to replace a pair that were damaged. I tried them on 4 gauges of aluminum from 20 gauge up to 14. The cut is nice and clean and the ring ends are barely offset. I am so pleased that I'm going to order a second pair so I will be sure I'll always have access to them. They are a bit more pricey than some of the other cutters out there but they still aren't expensive and they are well worth the price.

I really like the precision of these pliers. At first, I thought they were misaligned, but read that the jaws are slightly overlapped for a more precise cut. I use them to cut chainmail wire. My only reservation is the life span. Other brands have worn more quickly than I would like. Time will tell for this first time use of this brand.
